Naturopathy

is an umbrella term, which includes different holistic and natural healing therapies.

A wide range of diagnostic techniques are employed to assess causative factors, and treatment may involve dietary changes, herbal medicines, homoeopathy, nutritional supplementation or bodywork.

A Naturopath is, essentially, a general  practitioner of Natural Medicine. Natural Medicine is a system of healing which promotes health by stimulating the body’s own healing ability, returning it to a state of health and balance.

A Naturopaths role includes teaching you how to achieve and maintain health; to act as a guide on your journey of discovery that will help you unlock the natural, and powerful  healing forces within your body.

Naturopaths aim to treat with holistic principles, meaning they take the whole person into consideration, including physical, mental, emotional and environmental aspects of the client.

How can a Naturopath help me? Naturopaths can help people experiencing a current health problem, or people seeking help to maintain health. Naturopaths believe strongly that prevention is better than cure. Anyone can visit a Naturopath regardless of their state of health.

Common health problems seen by Naturopaths can include:

  • Lowered immune system function: recurrent colds, flu, infections
  • Digestive system problems: diarrhoea, constipation, bloating, nausea
  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Female reproductive system problems: PMS, irregular menstrual cycle, fertility problems
  • Male reproductive function:  Prostate  troubles, potency and fertility problems
  • Depression, anxiety, stress, insomnia
  • Cardiovascular disease:  High cholesterol
